I like dirt/muddy ATV riding.


Jon Reid

OVPUE, Web Developer

What was your previous position before joining the OVPUE?  

My previous position before joining OUE was a web developer at a marketing agency called Bryan Creative Group.

What are you looking forward to most about being a part of OVPUE?  

I am most looking forward to developing connections with the people at OUE and facing bigger challenges than I have so far in my career.

What's a fun fact about yourself?  

A fun fact about me is I am very interested in astronomy and physics, and I was actually born on the same day as NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day.


Josh McConnell Parsons

What was your previous position before joining the OVPUE?  

Evaluation Specialist, Evaluation Center, College of Education, University of Kentucky (also served on the College’s Quality Assurance Committee)

What are you looking forward to most about being a part of OVPUE?  

Become immersed in the amazing work of each unit and supporting them in engaging in assessment of their programs!

What's a fun fact about yourself?  

I love to cook, and I’m an avid gardener (though I’m giving that up for the time being when we move to Atlanta). I may have an unhealthy love of college football.

Anything else you'd like to add?

I’m ABD toward my dissertation, I’ve got an amazing wife (also ABD!) and one three-year-old daughter!

Nada Steighner

Career Center, Employer Connections Coordinator

What was your previous position before joining the Career Center?  

My previous position was serving as a Career Adviser for the School of Fashion and Luxury and Brand Management at Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta. Prior to moving to Georgia, I lived in Maryland where I worked as an Employment and Training Specialist with Frederick County Workforce Services (FCWS) for close to 5 years and as Outpatient Therapist for 4 years.

What are you looking forward to most about being a part of the center?  

I am looking forward to being part of a team where we are constantly brainstorming and developing programs/ services to best serve students and employers.

What's a fun fact about yourself?  

I saw Elizabeth II, former Queen of England, on my visit to England in 2011.


Bobbie Tutt

OVPUE, Administrative Professional Senior

What was your previous position before joining the OVPUE?  

Office Manager in Owl Advising Exploratory Center at Kennesaw State University.

What are you looking forward to most about being a part of OVPUE?  

Taking on new challenges, working with multiple business areas, and gaining new skills.

What's a fun fact about yourself?  

I enjoy pet sitting!

Stefan Smith

OVPUE, Data Scientist

What was your previous position before joining the OVPUE?  

My previous position was working with SS&C Advent as a Data Analyst in the FinTech industry. I was in that position for 6 years.

What are you looking forward to most about being a part of OVPUE?  

I strongly believe in higher education, and two personal goals of mine would be helping improve graduation rates as well as student experience, so I’m looking forward to gathering insight from GT’s data to improve the outcomes of students.

What's a fun fact about yourself?  

I’m a nerd through and through. I’m into biology, astronomy, videos games, woodworking, 3D printing, cars, animals, etc. I like to keep my mind busy and have (too?) many interests, so I’m always working on something.


Katherine Lawlor

First-Generation & Limited Income Student Initiatives, Program & Operations Manager

What was your previous position before joining the First-Gen?  

I was the Student Development Coordinator, Senior for the Transfer Jacks Mentoring Program at Northern Arizona University.

What are you looking forward to most about being a part of First-Gen?  

I love facilitating social events and having mentoring conversations with students about life and career. I enjoy participating in cultural and service-oriented opportunities.

What's a fun fact about yourself?  

I am a triplet and I've traveled to Mexico, Costa Rica, Turkey, and the country of Georgia on short-term service trips while I was a student.

Anything you'd like to add?

I am a first-generation college graduate and a PELL grant recipient.
