Steven Girardot, Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, has been elected to serve a three-year term on the board of directors for the Association of Undergraduate Education at Research Universities (UERU). His term will run from 2024-2027. UERU is an influential national organization whose focus is on undergraduate education exclusively at research universities. The organization was initially created in response to the 1998 Boyer Commission Report, Reinventing Undergraduate Education: A Blueprint for America’s Research Universities, which offered a vision of undergraduate education at research universities. More recently, UERU convened the Boyer 2030 Commission, which produced the Boyer 2030 report, A Blueprint for Excellence & Equity in Undergraduate Education at U.S. Research Universities. As a member of the UERU Board, Girardot will work with Vice Provosts/Vice Presidents of Undergraduate Education and other leadership from leading research universities across the country to advance the mission and vision of UERU as well as advocate for undergraduate education nationally.
