It is our pleasure to announce that effective immediately, AJ Amini has accepted the Program & Operations Manager of Undergraduate Transition Seminars position in High-Impact Learning Initiatives (HILI).
 
In this role, AJ will manage, develop, and coordinate the GT 1000 & GT 2000 student leader/peer mentoring programs, which recently moved from Undergraduate Advising & Transition (UAT) to High-Impact Learning Initiatives (HILI). He will also provide leadership and support in academic transition programs campus-wide. AJ is a strengths-based leader and is passionate about supporting new students in their transition to higher education, as well as supporting leadership and professional development in peer leaders. 
 
A generation 1.5 immigrant from Iran, AJ is bilingual in Farsi & English. AJ grew up in the desert southwest of the United States. He holds a BS in Biology, an MA in Education (Curriculum & Instruction), and another MA in Counseling & Guidance, all from New Mexico State University. His professional background includes time spent as a high school science teacher, school counselor, career counselor, academic advisor, new student orientation leader, and academic advising leader. 
 
AJ has taught First-Year Seminars for Exploratory students, Engineering students, and Life Science students. AJ's higher education work experience includes serving as the Associate Director of University College in the Indiana University system and most recently as the Director of Owl Advising at Kennesaw State University.
