It is with great pleasure that we congratulate two members of the Office of Undergraduate Education, Francisco Castelan, and Dr. Charmaine Troy, for receiving Georgia Tech Staff Awards this year.

Francisco Castelan, Assistant Director for Pre-Health Advising, Pre-Graduate & Pre-Professional Advising, received the "Spirit of Georgia Tech Award." Through his dedication and hard work, Francisco has been a source of inspiration for his colleagues and has helped create a supportive environment where students and staff can thrive. He has shown exceptional commitment to Georgia Tech's mission and values, and his positive impact on the campus community has been widely recognized.

Dr. Charmaine Troy, Associate Director, First-Generation and Limited Income Student Initiatives, received the "Putting Students First Award." The award recognizes exceptional commitment to the Institute's core value of putting students at the forefront of everything we do. Dr. Troy's dedication to supporting and advocating for first-generation and limited-income students embodies this value. She has been instrumental in developing and implementing programs that provide these students with the resources and support they need to succeed academically and personally.

I am thrilled we have two winners of staff awards in OUE this year. Francisco and Charmaine are both extremely deserving of this recognition," said Dr. Steven P. Girardot, vice provost for undergraduate education. "Their tireless efforts to make a positive impact on the lives of students and their commitment to creating a supportive learning environment are noticed and appreciated by me and so many others.

We look forward to seeing their continued contributions to Georgia Tech and the broader community, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavors. Once again, congratulations to Francisco Castelan and Dr. Charmaine Troy on their well-deserved awards!
