It is my pleasure to announce Dr. Linda Green as our new Director of Tutoring & Academic Support (TAS), effective August 10th

Dr. Green has been involved in STEM undergraduate education and academic support for 14 years as a faculty member and administrator. She earned her Ph.D. in Biology at the University of Virginia and her BA in Environmental and Evolutionary Biology at Dartmouth College. Her professional career has been devoted to undergraduate student success, and she has a strong track record of developing active teaching and learning initiatives that promote student engagement and well-being, particularly within STEM disciplines. Most recently, she was a teaching professor at Georgetown, and prior to that, served as a senior academic professional in Georgia Tech’s School of Biological Sciences from 2008 to 2016.

In this position, Dr. Green will report directly to the Associate Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (AVPUE) and serve as a member of the OUE leadership team. She will also hold a courtesy faculty appointment in the School of Biological Sciences, where she will continue to teach undergraduate biology courses. In her role as director, she will lead our central programs and services that provide academic assistance and promote student learning (1-to-1 Tutoring, PLUS, Study Sessions, Tech Prep, etc.), primarily focused on introductory STEM and other quantitative courses. She will also partner with faculty and TAs who teach these courses and will collaborate closely with the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) to initiate and lead initiatives that improve student learning. Finally, she will work collaboratively with many of our tutoring and academic support programs across campus.

Dr. Green’s office is located in Clough Commons (Suite 283). You can reach her via email at linda.green@gatech.edu or by phone at 404-894-1951.
