Dr. Steven Girardot, Associate Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, was recently recognized at the 2020 AACRAO Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) annual conference (held virtually) by being named a National Student Clearinghouse Research Center winner for his presentation titled, “Hindsight is 2020 (for Summer): The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Summer Sessions and Implications for the Future.”

The session was co-presented with colleagues from the North American Association of Summer Sessions (NAASS), a national organization focused on summer and special session administration within higher education. Dr. Girardot has been an active leader in this organization, where he has served as President (2018-2021); Annual Conference Chair (2017); and Associate Regional Vice President for the Southern Region (2016-2017). At Georgia Tech, Dr. Girardot has been collaborating across the Institute to enhance our summer session, and he currently co-chairs our Summer 2021 planning team (with Dr. Nisha Botchwey in GTPE) and provides leadership for the Summer Session Initiatives area within the Office of Undergraduate Education.
