August
Georgia's Governor, Nathan Deal, announces the initiation of Complete College Georgia (CCG), a statewide effort to increase attainment of a high-quality certificate or degree. Each college or university in the University System of Georgia (USG) develops a campus plan to improve retention and graduation rates.
December
The Office of the Provost is re-organized, creating the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (VPUE). The VPUE is charged with ensuring "the quality and relevance of undergraduate education and the academic success of undergraduate students."

2012
August
An internal search is launched for the Vice Provost position. Dr. Colin Potts, from the College of Computing, is selected as the new VPUE.
August
Dr. Steven Girardot, the Director of CAS, is appointed by Dr. Potts as Assistant Vice Provost (later Associate Vice Provost) of Undergraduate Education (AVPUE).
The units reporting to the Vice Provost are restructured within the Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE). Current units that remain from the past organizational structure are HP and CAS. A "shared services" operational model is established to support all OUE units, moving budget/finance, marketing, and similar functions under the AVPUE. Assessment and IT functions are added.
The Center for Academic Enrichment (CAE) is established to foster curricular enrichment and to enhance student-faculty interaction. Associate Director, Dr. Christopher Reaves, is appointed Director.

2013
The Division of Professional Practice (DoPP), and existing unit within OUE that houses the co-operative education and internship program, is strategically merged with the Office of Career Services (in Student Affairs) and assigned to the Office of the Provost, specifically reporting to the VPUE. Graduate career services remain operationally embedded in the unit but report to the Vice Provost for Graduate Education and Faculty Development (VPGEFD). The new, combined unit is named the Center for Career Discovery and Development (C2D2).
August
The founding Honors Program director announces his intention to return to the faculty. After an internal search, Dr. Roberta Berry from the School of Public Policy (and joint appointment with Georgia State University College of Law) is appointed Director.

2015
Serve-Learn-Sustain (SLS) is established as Georgia Tech's new Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). The Center for Serve-Learn-Sustain is created within OUE to implement the QEP. A national search for a new Director is conducted, and Jennifer Hirsch is hired.
A new Pre-Graduate and Pre-Professional Advising (PGPP) functional area is established within C2D2, bringing together all pre-professional advising (pre-health, pre-law, and pre-K-12 teaching) and prestigious fellowship advising and aligning it with existing career development and experiential education programs and services housed in C2D2.

October
In response to priorities in CCG, a new Undergraduate Academic Advising Manager position is established to provide campus leadership and coordination for undergraduate advising. After a national search, Dr. Beth Spencer is appointed Undergraduate Academic Advising Manager. The position is later re-titled Director of Undergraduate Academic Advising.
In support of a campus strategic plan for the expansion of Living Learning Communities (LLCs) that was approved in 2015, a new Associate Director position is established in CAE to provide campus coordination for LLCs.
A Summer Session task force, co-chaired by the AVPUE and the Vice Provost for Enrollment Services, recommends establishment of a new functional area dedicated to enhancing and growing the summer session. This recommendation is accepted, and Summer Sessions Initiatives (SSI) is established within OUE. Dr. De Morris Walker is hired as the first Director of Summer Session Initiatives in January 2017.

June
Vice Provost Potts announces the formation of OUE 2020, a committee charged with designing and implementing immediate policies to advance OUE's mission.
Provost Bras initiates an Advising Task Force (ATF), and chaired by Vice Provost Potts and the Director of Undergraduate Academic Advising, Dr. Spencer. Findings from the report are released in Spring 2018.

A 5-year review of C2D2 is initiated, resulting in the unit being renamed to the Career Center in 2020.

Center for Academic Success is restructured into two units: Undergraduate Advising and Transition (UAT) and Tutoring and Academic Support (TAS).

March
COVID-19 Pandemic occurs in March.
The restructuring of C2D2 into the Career Center is completed. Following a national search for a new Executive Director, James Barricelli is appointed as the inaugural Executive Director.

Dr. Potts announces departure to become Provost; Steven Girardot is appointed as Interim Vice Provost.

SLS Completed – 5-year review; accommodation from SACSCOC.

Following an internal search, Steven Girardot is appointed as the second Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education. Roberta Berry is subsequently appointed as Associate Vice Provost.

Leadership restructuring- creates ASA (bringing together UAT, TAS, PGPP, as well as CCG and First-Gen initiatives); Dr. Lorett Swank is hired as the inaugural executive director of ASA, effective March 1, 2023.
July
High Impact Learning Initiatives (renamed to Engaged and Experiential Learning, or “E2L”, July 1, 2023); The undergraduate co-op program is realigned to dual report to the Career Center and “E2L”.

OUE initiates strategic alignment planning process to align OUE’s priorities with GT’s Strategic Plan.

Topic Announced for Next Campus Quality Enhancement Plan. After consideration of potential topics, the QEP committee has selected “Leadership in Progress and Service: Creating Intentional and Transformative Learning Experiences.”
July
Georgia Tech Announces Institutionalization Plan for Serve-Learn-Sustain. Effective July 1, 2023, the SLS team established a new center, the Center for Sustainable Communities Research and Education (CSCRE), under the VPIR.
