More Academic Support for Students

A new collaboration designed to provide more comprehensive support for students returning from academic dismissal was launched in summer 2019. Advisors who write contracts were brought together to share success stories, lessons learned, and best practices, while also reviewing the GT 2100 curriculum and ongoing outcomes data. (Since 2014, 53% of the readmitted students who have enrolled in GT 2100 have either graduated or are persisting.) The goal is to help advisors include data-informed decisions into their practice for both creating contracts and working with students during their first semesters after dismissal. This group also shared valuable feedback from the advisor/departmental perspective on the availability of student resources, student/advisor needs and perceptions, and interest in better sharing of relevant data.
