The Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE) is pleased to announce that, following a national search, Mr. James Barricelli has been appointed as the new Executive Director for the Center for Career Discovery and Development. James has served as the Director of Employer Relations for C2D2 since November 2018. James will begin his appointment effective today, June 15, 2020. 

In this short time, he has successfully led the employer relations team through a period of transition and growth, including significant enhancements to our campus career fairs and on-campus recruiting. He has more than 16 years of experience in career services and higher education. He has successfully led teams at institutions such as Wake Forest University, UNC Chapel Hill, George Washington University, and George Mason University. He has served in leadership roles for several professional associations including ACPA and the Virginia Association of College and Employers. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History at Utica College of Syracuse University and a Master of Arts in Higher Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

In this position, James will report directly to the Associate Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, Dr. Steven Girardot. He will oversee and implement the transformation of career services, undergraduate cooperative and work-based experiential education, and professional development activities. He will work collaboratively with leadership in graduate career services and pre-professional advising to ensure a seamless integration of these services and programs with a focus to ensure students across all colleges are well-served by the center. Finally, he will serve as a member of the OUE leadership team, providing input and leadership across the division.
