The ThinkSwiss Fellowship is awarded to students who demonstrate a strong interest in research and innovation. This fellowship provides an opportunity to conduct research at a Swiss university or research institution. Three Georgia Tech recipients have shown exceptional promise in their respective fields and are set to embark on an exciting journey of discovery and learning in Switzerland.
Vincent Griffo

Vincent, a Stamps President’s Scholar at Georgia Tech, aims to design and optimize robotic systems for extraterrestrial navigation. This summer, he will develop and test a new foot design for the ANYmal robot at ETH Zurich’s Robotic Systems Lab. Vincent is excited to gain international research experience and prepare for a future PhD program. He noted that the prestigious fellowships office was “excellent help throughout the process, meeting with me multiple times to go over my application and giving great feedback that drastically improved my final submission. For any future applicants, I would highly recommend making use of GT’s fellowship advising support.”

Divya Tadanki
Divya aspires to become an OBGYN and improve maternal and child health outcomes in the US. This summer, she will study blood biomarkers of Shaken Baby Syndrome at the University of Geneva under Dr. Tony Fracasso. Divya is excited to gain a global perspective on healthcare and develop research skills for her future medical career. She says, “The research environment in Switzerland emphasizes the intersection between public health and medicine, which I hope will give me an intersectional and international perspective of maternal and child health.”

Matthew Fernandez
Matthew, a Godbold, Provost, and Astronaut Scholar at Georgia Tech, aims to create multi-modal robotic platforms for extreme environment exploration. This summer, he will work on the mechanical optimization and field testing of a robotic soft fish for biological surveillance. Matthew is excited to experience international robotics research and hopes this program will influence his grad school opportunities and collaborations. Matthew says his favorite spots on Tech’s campus are the MRDC Makerspaces and the Machining Mall.
