We're excited to announce that Joseph (Joe) Barnette has joined the Georgia Tech Career Center as Educational Outreach Manager I. Joe will work with the co-op and internship team, the Office of Experiential and Engaged Learning, and our campus stakeholders to help evolve and expand the visibility of the co-op and internship programs for Georgia Tech students. Joe will also supervise the Co-op and Internship Student Ambassadors as they continue their outreach to student organizations and other campus partners.
Joe joins Georgia Tech from Georgia State University, where he was the Job Location Development Coordinator. In this role, Joe led a part-time job fair each semester as well as several employer panels and employer information sessions. Joe graduated from The Citadel with his master's degree in school counseling in May of 2024. While at The Citadel, he worked as a graduate assistant in The Citadel Career Center, working one-on-one with students to help them write resumes, practice interviewing, search for internships, search for jobs, and build a professional network. Joe's experience working in career services at Georgia State University and The Citadel has helped him strengthen his career counseling skills as well as his ability to build connections with employers.
Joe also holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and child development from Vanderbilt University. He has always been interested in helping children and adolescents be successful on their academic and career journeys. Participating in co-ops and internships is an increasingly important factor for a college student's career success, which is why Joe is so excited to work at the Georgia Tech Career Center!
Please join us in formally welcoming Joe to the Career Center and E2L teams and the Georgia Tech community.
