Astronaut Shane Kimbrough presenting at the lecture

On Tuesday, January 14, Specialized Advising hosted a lecture and scholarship presentation to honor Georgia Tech’s 2024-25 Astronaut Scholars, Matthew Fernandez (ME ’25) and Ryan Rodriguez (IE ‘25). The presentation was accompanied by an inspiring and thought-provoking lecture from retired NASA astronaut, Shane Kimbrough.

The Astronaut Scholarship was initiated 40 years ago by the Mercury-7 astronauts and provides up to $15,000 for college expenses, a paid trip to the ASF Innovator's Weekend, and a lifelong network with astronauts and ASF alumni and supporters.
