On November 16th, Undergraduate Transition Seminars, a program in Experiential and Engaged Learning (E2L), hosted the 2023 GT 1000 and GT 2000 Banquet. This annual event recognizes the teaching and mentoring excellence of seminar instructors and Team Leaders (peer facilitators) in GT 1000: First-Year Seminar and GT 2000: Transfer Student Seminar, as well as the significant contributions and collaborations of a campus partner to the seminar programs.

This year’s banquet theme was “BountiFall,” and the event was full of good wishes, savory food, and warm fellowship as instructors, Team Leaders, campus partners, and guests joined in the celebration. Asst. Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education and Executive Director of the Office of Experiential and Engaged Learning, Dr. Chris Reaves, delivered a welcome and some opening remarks. Provost Steven McLaughlin and Senior Vice Provost of Education and Learning, Dr. Larry Jacobs, offered reflections on the seminar program’s contributions to student support and on their own co-teaching experience of GT 2000 this semester. Two seasonal crafting opportunities were offered to attendees, and the group engaged in a lively round of GT trivia to round out the evening.
