National Transfer Student Week

Each year during the third week of October, Georgia Tech celebrates our transfer students during National Transfer Student Week. Transfer students comprise 25% of our undergraduate student population, and OUE is committed to supporting and celebrating the transfer students who are an integral part of our campus and community.

For this year’s Transfer Student Week, OUE held a series of events throughout the week designed to promote transfer student success through connection, support, and empowerment. Our kick-off event, sponsored by the GT 2000 Transfer Student seminar program, was held on October 16 and invited transfer students to stop by the Bill Moore Student Success Center to have lunch, connect with campus resources, and network with other transfer students. We also held a series of workshops designed to promote transfer student success, including workshops on getting involved with undergraduate research, participating in co-ops and internships, and exploring their majors and degree programs through exploratory advising.

Throughout the week, we had over 50 students participate in our OUE programming that was a combination of community-building, education, preparation, and celebration, and we look forward to continuing to support our transfer students here at Georgia Tech!
