Casey Chaviano, Ph.D., MSW
Dr. Casey Chaviano is the Assessment Specialist for the Office of Undergraduate Education. Dr. Chaviano attended Florida State University, where she earned a B.S. in Geography, Masters of Social Work, and Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy. Prior to coming to Georgia Tech, she worked in the mental health field as a Marriage and Family Therapist. Dr. Chaviano also has extensive graduate training in quantitative and qualitative research methods, statistical analyses, grant writing, IRB proposal development, and program evaluation.
Assistant Director for Administrative Operations
As the assistant director, Mysty Connelly oversees department budget and finances and OHR requests for the Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE). Before joining OUE in October 2012, she worked for two years as the business manager for the Georgia Tech Division of Professional Practice (now C2D2). She has a B.A. in History and a Master’s in Business Administration, specializing in financial services from Piedmont College in Demorest, Georgia. In her free time, Mysty enjoys spending time with her husband and family, expanding her culinary skills, reading and gardening.
Cory Hopkins holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from the University of West Georgia. Over the past several years Cory has honed his talent for graphics, video editing, print work, communicating, and marketing. As part of the Office of Undergraduate Education, Cory supports all of the OUE departments under the supervision of the Associate Vice Provost. Although he has worked in communications and marketing for several years, this is his first position in higher education. Cory enjoys spending his free time with his family. He also loves to play music, soccer, video games, and binge-watching television shows. He likes meeting new people, so feel free to stop by and introduce yourself!
Criss Miller is the executive assistant for the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (OVPUE), specifically serving as the primary administrative support for Dr. Potts and Dr. Girardot. Criss earned her B.S. in Organizational Management from Morris Brown College and a M.A. in Organizational Leadership from Shorter University. Prior to joining Tech, she worked as an executive assistant in the banking industry; most recently with State Bank & Trust.
Financial Administrator II
De’Angelo Neely is the Financial Administrator II. He supports Mysty Connelly as well as all of the OUE units on financial and administrative matters. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and his Master of Communications degree from Lindenwood University in Saint Louis, MO. Before coming to Georgia Tech, he worked in Finance for one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the United States. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, singing, and cooking.
IT Support Lead
Russell earned a B.S. in Physics and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of West Georgia. He has held positions at the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of West Georgia, where he was responsible for lab and classroom technology in the Technology Enhanced Learning Center and Douglas County schools, where he managed a team responsible for all of the technology needs for ten elementary schools.
Project Support Specialist Senior
Cara-Joy began working with the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education in 2014, and while her primary appointment is with the Provost’s Office, her additional responsibilities include assisting the associate vice provost with special projects. An Atlanta native, she earned her B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business. While attending Georgia Tech, she held several leadership positions within her Greek organization, Phi Mu and worked at Georgia Tech Professional Education as a Marketing Intern. During that time she also worked with Dr. G.P. “Bud” Peterson in the President’s Office. In her free time, Cara-Joy enjoys spending time with her friends and family, keeping up with the latest movies and television series and cheering on the Jackets during football games.
