Staff Spotlight - Savitra Dow

Name/Role at OUE:

Savitra Dow
Center for Academic Success - Tutoring Programs

Years at Tech/Years in current role:

Next Month will make 4 years for me as an employee of Georgia Tech. I started with the Center for Academic Success in August of 2014. I am the Academic Coordinator for the center. I manage the daily operations essential to the continued success of the Tutoring Center as well as hire, train and supervise our 1-to-1 tutors and student assistants.

Favorite thing to do outside of work:

It honestly depends on the day. I enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants, going to various festivals, attending sporting events and just experiencing ALL that life has to offer. I try to do at least three new things each week.

Hidden talent/something interesting about yourself:

I am a huge lover of fashion. I currently have a fashion business where I assist clients with their personal shopping needs along with other services. I’ve been afforded the opportunities to work on various styling projects. Outside of my basic styling services, I’ve done personal styling for photo shoots, a music video and I’ve been the lead stylist for a short YouTube film production. One of my hidden talents is that I’m a great singer.

If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?

I am definitely looking forward to going to Bora Bora in the near future.

Favorite quote?

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” - Jeremiah 29:11-13
