I began my career at Tech in 1988, leaving around 1996, and returning I have 16 years of actual full time service. (10 years in the Career Center)
Favorite thing to do outside of work:
Hosting my weekly Christian Music Television program singing and playing piano, appearing with my team of singers at various venues in GA, SC, FL, as our schedules allows is my true passion and I’m blessed to be a part of something far greater than myself.
Hidden talent/something interesting about yourself:
My family owned and operated a successful catering company and restaurant started by my Grandmother after her retirement from Georgia Tech in the early 1980’s through 2004. I learned to prepare all the specialty dishes and create her masterpiece cakes that she delivered to Georgia Tech’s President each year since 1964. I still continue to drop one off each year at the Carnegie Building to carry on the tradition.
If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?
I’ve been extremely fortunate to spend at least one week in all of our “lower 48” states touring. I would love to visit Austria to experience the region and meet the von Trapp family :)

Richard H. South is the Manager of the Center for Career Discovery and Development’s Corporate Partnership Program, and a member of the center's Employer Relations Team.
Beginning his career at Georgia Tech in public safety in 1988, Richard has served in the leadership team within campus police before joining Career Services.
Richard helped formulate the Executive Partnership program within Career Services at Georgia Tech, now known as The Center for Career Discovery and Development (C2D2) he recruits and manages the benefits for 51 corporate partners at four levels. These companies consists of top recruiters from various industries, including Petroleum, Energy, Technology, Consulting, Securities, and Consumer goods, and to name a few. Richard serves as the liaison with the Institute’s Corporate Relations and School Development officers across campus.
As a member of C2D2's employer relations unit Richard handles "On campus recruiting" as well as monitor job postings and assist companies with recruiting and marketing campaign strategies.
