Casey Chaviano, Ph.D., MSW
Assistant Director for Assessment & Planning
Dr. Casey Chaviano is the Assistant Director for Assessment & Planning for the Office of Undergraduate Education. She attended Florida State University, where she earned a B.S. in Geography, Masters of Social Work, and Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy. Prior to coming to Georgia Tech, she worked in the mental health field as a Marriage and Family Therapist. Dr. Chaviano also has extensive graduate training in quantitative and qualitative research methods, statistical analyses, grant writing, IRB proposal development, and program evaluation.
In her role, Casey oversees the outcomes and assessment reporting processes for OUE units and links this work to strategic planning and other projects. She serves as OUE’s “chief data officer,” responsible for all data and reporting. Finally, she chairs and leads OUE’s assessment committee; represents OUE on the Institute-level assessment council; and serves as a liaison between OUE units and Academic Effectiveness and IRP/EDM.
Communications Program Manager
Cory Hopkins is the Communications Program Manager for the Office of Undergraduate Education. He holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from the University of West Georgia (UWG). Cory has over 10 years of experience in communications, marketing, web development, and graphic design.
In his role, Cory manages all marketing and communications for the Office of Undergraduate Education, including strategy and support for: presentations, social media, content development, graphic design, web development, print, video, photography, and more. Cory serves as OUE's liaison to Georgia Tech's central communications office, Institute Communications. He also provides support in the planning/execution of OUE's large-scale events. Finally, he serves as the chair of OUE's Communications Work Group that includes a communications representative from each of OUE's units.
Cory enjoys spending his free time with his family. He also loves to play music, soccer, video games, and binge-watching television shows.
Assistant to the VP & AVP
Wanda Purinton is the Assistant to the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and the Associate Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, where she provides primary executive support for Dr. Potts and Dr. Girardot. Wanda has worked in various administrative roles at Georgia Tech for over 10 years. In her time at Georgia Tech, she has worked for the School of Interactive Computing as the Assistant to the Chair and as the Administrative Coordinator for the Dean’s Office in the College of Computing. Before coming to Georgia Tech in 2007, Wanda spent 20+ years working for Delta Air Lines.
Business Intelligence Developer
Kenji Terawaki joined the Georgia Tech in 2014 as an Employer Relations Specialist in C2D2. His interest in data collection and analytics originated from working working with our CMS system, Symplicity (CareerBuzz) and motivated him to pursue a new position of Information Analyst in C2D2, which he held for two years. This position has allowed him to speak at several symposiums and conferences about benefits of career centers using, interpreting, and promoting university career services data. Kenji has also served for 3 years as a Board Member for HOLA (Ga Tech Hispanic Employee Organization), Board Member for STAR-Students' Temporary Assistance & Resources, and he has recently promoted to V.P. of Colleges and Director Board Member for GACE - Georgia Association of Colleges and Employers.
Kenji is now Business Intelligence Developer for OUE—a role that bridges Enterprise Data Management (EDM) and OUE.
IT Support Lead
Russell Wallis earned a B.S. in Physics and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of West Georgia. He has held positions at the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of West Georgia, where he was responsible for lab and classroom technology in the Technology Enhanced Learning Center and Douglas County schools, where he managed a team responsible for all of the technology needs for ten elementary schools.
Leslie Dionne White
Assistant Director for Administrative Operations
Leslie Dionne White joined Georgia Tech in 2011 in the College of Sciences before moving to the Office of Undergraduate Education as Assistant Director of Administrative Operations. Leslie has over twenty years of experience working in a variety of administrative and program management positions in both the nonprofit and higher education sectors. She holds a B.S. in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, and an M.B.A. from Troy University.
In her role, Leslie oversees and manages all administrative functions and operations in the Office of Undergraduate Education, including serving as the first point of contact on transactional HR matters (working closely with the Provost’s Office HR team); taking the lead on facilities/space and IT issues; assisting with OUE’s internal communication processes; and managing the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (OVPUE). She also works closely with all of the administrative/operations staff in OUE and will chair the OUE administrative professional committee as well as work closely with our professional development committee.
On the weekends you’ll find Leslie enjoying the Silver Comet Trail or with her nose in a book trying to catch up with her multiple book club obligations.
