For the second consecutive year, the Center for Career Discovery and Development partnered with the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts to sponsor the “REC” (Recruit, Explore, Connect) event. Designed to offer liberal arts students the opportunity to showcase unique skill sets acquired in a technology infused environment, this September 24th event provided participating companies the advantage of tapping into an often overlooked candidate pool.

The "REC" event was split into two parts:

  • 6-7 pm - roundtable discussion with employers
  • 7-8 pm - open-ended networking with employers

Recruiters from BlackRock, Siemens, The Carter Center, Delta, Cardlytics, The Marines Corp, The International Rescue Committee, Accenture, Sandia Labs, Kabbage and The US Government Accountability Office participated.

The event was a chance for students to explore opportunities for liberal arts majors from consulting to finance to nonprofit and everything in between. The REC event had something for everyone, from job opportunities for post-graduation, internship opportunities, and an opportunity for students to get feedback on their resumes.
